I haven’t seen anyone point out that the Mona Lisa is also a metaphor for the glass onion. Like the majority of people look at the Mona Lisa and think she’s an enigma, they wonder what she’s thinking. They wonder who she was, what she was thinking. They talk about the layers and the complexities of this woman’s smile when in reality she isn’t a mystery at all.

The Mona Lisa was a commission from a wealthy silk merchant who wanted to celebrate the birth of his second son by having a portrait of his wife be painted by that up and coming artist. Like we know exactly who she was, why she’s smiling, we know who she is. But despite this the air of mystery surrounding the Mona Lisa continues because people love her perceived mystery. They love imagining that there are more layers to her than there really was. And it fits so beautifully.

some of you are so entrenched in fandom that it’s genuinely damaged the way you even casually interact with others, especially strangers

like i need you to understand how incredibly inappropriate and abnormal it is for your immediate reaction to someone’s personal post to be “i should tag this and make it about my OTPs and headcanons” or “this is a fanfiction prompt”

i made a post about my pet lizard and someone reblogged it, using the situation as a prompt for a nsfw incest fanfiction that they added in the reblog. when i was upset, their fandom friends harassed me.

i made a comedic post about my sex life and someone reblogged it, using the situation as a prompt for a nsfw fanfiction that they added to the reblog (this was made extra uncomfortable by the fact it was not made by an MLM but fetishized MLM). when i was upset, their fandom friends harassed me.

my personal posts are constantly inundated with tags saying they’re actually about people’s favorite OTPs and characters and shipping drama and it’s extremely weird and uncomfortable. some people will comment and say, “OP, i know you hate this but it’s SOOO X character,” which makes it worse.

i’m upset to learn this shit happens to loads of people, often to a far worse degree.

you all need to step away from your favorite media and realize it’s not reality, and that the rest of the world does not exist to cater to your obsession. fictional content and fandom culture is not more important than real humans and our feelings and boundaries.

As someone who uses fandoms as a coping mechanism, this is unacceptable behavior. You know that when you re blog the op gets a notification. Not everyone wants to get your nsfw fanfic in their notifications. There are safe spaces for creating such content, the reboots of a person post about their own life is not it.

Please use the proper spaces for fandom content. It’s literally so easy to not make unsuspecting people uncomfortable.

Cpr is for if someone had cardiac arrest or drowned, not choking

The heimlich maneuver is for choking

CPR can be for choking. If you take a class they train you to lower them to the ground and begin compressions if they pass out regardless of if they still have a pulse. And on a pregnant person rather than abdominal thrusts (the heimlich) you would instead place your hands in the middle of their chest from behind, effectively giving them chest compressions from behind.
